Answer:

  1. The characterstics features of sedimentary rock are as follows:-
  • They are porous in nature that’s why they can hold oil and gas.
  • They contain the most important thing that is Fossils.
  • They show stratification.
  • They are formed by different processes such as erosion, weathering, transportation, accumulation, sedimentation etc.
  • They also contain different types of structures such as bedding, ripple marks, mud-cracks, rain prints etc

2) Metamorphic rocks are formed from other rocks that are changed because of heat or pressure. ... Earth movements can cause rocks to be deeply buried or squeezed. As a result, the rocks are heated and put under great pressure . They do not melt, but the minerals they contain are changed chemically, forming metamorphic rocks.

3)Lava is made up of crystals, volcanic glass, and bubbles (volcanic gases). As magma gets closer to the surface and cools, it begins to crystallize minerals like olivine and form bubbles of volcanic gases. When lava erupts it is made up of a slush of crystals, liquid, and bubbles.

4) Igneous rocks are known as primary rocks as they are formed through the cooling and solidification of magma or lava. The magma can be derived from partial melts of existing rocks in either a planet's mantle or crust.

All other rocks are derived from them, so they are also called as parent rock.

5)Sediments are usually formed from matter which falls to the bottom of oceans and lakes. The matter includes tiny pieces of other rocks, and dead animals, plants and microorganisms. Also, inorganic chemicals may be precipitated from solution in the water.
