we have to find the value of d{tan^-1(1-x)/(1+x)}/dx
d{tan^-1(1-x)/(1+x)}/dx = 1/[1 + {(1-x)/(1 + x)}²] × d{(1 - x)/(1 + x)}/dx
= (1 + x)²/[(1 + x)² + (1 - x)²] × [(1 + x)(-1) - (1 - x)]/(1 + x)²]
= (1 + x)²/[1 + x² + 1 + x²] × [-2/(1 + x)²]
= -(1 + x)²/{2(1 + x²) } × 2/(1 + x)²
= -1/(1 + x²)
hence, option (a) is correct.
d{tan^-1(1-x)/(1+x)}/dx = 1/[1 + {(1-x)/(1 + x)}²] × d{(1 - x)/(1 + x)}/dx
= (1 + x)²/[(1 + x)² + (1 - x)²] × [(1 + x)(-1) - (1 - x)]/(1 + x)²]
= (1 + x)²/[1 + x² + 1 + x²] × [-2/(1 + x)²]
= -(1 + x)²/{2(1 + x²) } × 2/(1 + x)²
= -1/(1 + x²)
hence, option (a) is correct.
