Of Oxygen is 8.so,electronic configuration of oxygen is 2,6.there is need to be atmost 2 electrons are present in first shell of an atom .and in second shell there are 8 electrons are needed to form stable octate.but oxygen only have 6 electrons in 2nd shell.so,oxygen needs 2 electrons to complete its octate.HENCE,THE VALENCY OF OXYGEN IS TWO.
