- Elements that lose electrons easily are called metals. Based on the periodic table, the alkali metals and the alkaline earth metals that have 1 and 2 electrons in their outermost orbit will lose electrons easily.
2. Elements that are likely to gain electrons are Non-metals.
- Elements that gain or accept electrons easily are called Non-metals. Based on the periodic table, the halogens in Group 17 of the periodic table accept an electron easily to complete their octet.
3. Type of element that are likely to have no electrical charge at all are Noble gases.
- The elements of the periodic table that don't have electrical charge are the group 18 elements also called Noble gases because the octet is complete.
