(d)As we move from right to left in any period valence electrons decreases. Period is completed when a particular shell is completely filled in that period. Hence as we move from left to right, number of valence electrons increases and vice versa for the right to left i.e. number of valence electrons decreases.

(e)Remains same. All element in Second Group have 2 valence electrons.
