  1. When soap water is spilled on the floor, the friction exerted by the floor is reduced. Hence, the feet will not get a proper grip on the floor and one tends to slip, making it difficult to walk.
  2. We can push a lighter box easily than a heavy box on the same floor because of friction. The heavier the object, the more friction is applied, thus making it difficult to push a heavier box.
  3. The reason we are able to control cars at all is because of friction between the car's tires and the road: more accurately, because there are three kinds of friction: rolling friction, starting friction, and sliding friction.
