Given,

Daisy uses up 3 litres of petrol for riding 100 km on her scooter.

To Find,

How many litres of petrol does she use for riding 400 km?

Solution,

We can solve the question as follows:
The amount of petrol required to ride 100 km = 3 litres

The amount of petrol required to ride 1 km = \frac{3}{100}

Now,

The amount of petrol needed to ride 400 km = (amount required to ride          .                                                                                   1 km) * 400

                                                                                = \frac{3}{100} * 400\\

                                                                                  = 12 litres

Hence, 12 litres of petrol is required to ride 400 km.
