Dalit participation in Civil Disobedience Movement

Explanation:

Dalits were considered the lower classes of the societies. They were discriminated and treated as untouchables. Congress was sceptic on offending their conservative upper-class members, so they ignore the Dalits. But, Gandhi wanted to abolish untouchability and get Dalits access to water bodies, schools and temples.

Dalits organized themselves into a separate group under the leadership of B. R. Ambedkar and demanded reservation and a separate electorate. Dalit leaders believed that only political empowerment could solve the problems faced by them in the society.

So they did not participate in the Civil Disobedience Movement organized by the Indian National Congress.
