Dams base are kept broader to prevent it from breaking due to excessive pressure of water at the base .

Is this answer is right for the question why the base of dams are kept braoder ?

Yeah... the answer is correct!!
Because pressure exerted by liquid increases with the height so bases of dams are made broader.

Yeah ! your answer is correct. Nothing is wrong in this answer. Because due to it's broader base the pressure of water will not be able to come out.
