Darjeeling is a very famous Travelodge written by RK Laxman, the brother of very famous writer RK Narayan. This story is an extract from The Distorted Mirror:Stories. This mainly talks about the authors experience to Darjeeling by railways. He said that his decision to take railways was praised by all n this was the best way one can travel by. he received his tickets from his travel agent at Calcutta for his onward journey to Jalpaiguri. He was said that he would enjoy the tiny mountain train from Jalpaiguri to Darjeeling. The passengers sitting nearby had a conversation of arrival of the train. But a coolie gave a right info that due to a disastrous landslide the railways are closed and he will have to travel by road only to reach Darjeeling. And then the surroundings of the mountains and the mist n fog from the window seen by the author is described in detail. Then there is a description of Kanchanjunga mountains n it's beauty.
