Answer:
Accession of Manipur
Explanation:
A few days before India's independence the king of Manipur Bhodhchandra Singh signed the Instrument of Accession (IoA) with the Government of India on the condition that the internal autonomy of the state would be maintained. But due to the pressure of the people of Manipur elections were held in June 1948 on the basis of Universal Adult (UAF) the first state to do so. Thus constitutional monarchy was in the state. There are two sharp differences over the question of the merger of Manipur with India the State Congress agrees to it while the opposition parties. At last, in September 1949 Maharakja signed Merger Instrument and thus Manipur was fully part of India. But it caused a lot of anger and resentment in Manipur, the repercussions of which are still felt in the state.
