Paul Hermann Müller was the one who discovered DDT.

It was first synthesized in 1874 but its properties were not discovered till 1939 by Paul Hermann Müller, the Swiss scientist who was then awarded Nobel Prize for his discoveries in the fields of Physiology and Medicine in the year of 1948.
