So, According to theorem,Triangles on the same base and between same parallel lines are equal in area.
So, AreaΔBCD=ΔBCE because this two triangles stand on same base BC and between same parallels DE and BC.
Now, Area of triangle BOC is common in both. So,ar(ΔBCD-ΔBOC) =ar(ΔBCE-ΔBOC)
We get ar(ΔBOD) =ar(COE)
