It's totally ur choice no1 even ur parents can not force u up to do smthng u don't even want to...Bt if they're asking u 4 engineering then there must be some reason behind it..may be they would hv decided it as a second choice for ur career...a person shall olwz hv atleast 2 choices 4 his/her career if 1 doesn't works up there's obviously a second choice....even after engineering u can give ur ias exams....
Bt its totally ur choice wht u want to do....no1 can guide u better than ur parents in dis matter...
N if u'll start with ias n after ur papers may b due to some reason smthng wrong happens n u don't get ur selections done (I hope smthng lyk dis never happen...bt jst talking logically) then ur hard work wuld be oll waste so side by side to engineering u can do ur ias training too...

offff ohhh, don't take tension,l also want to become an IAS officer but my parents said to do engineering,so I thought a lot and then founded a simple way.
firstly become an engineer and take a degree of IAS,
ok.
there is a profit also in this decision,it is that if you can't be passed in IAS,then you have engineering also which is already present with you. So don't worry, okay.
