debate career building is the only goal of education

As we grow up we are told that the only way to be successful is by getting a good education from school then go to university which will give us the best possible chances of success, culminating in a life of affordability with 2.4 kids a nice house the latest car and yearly vacations just lime films on the tv.
Now let's get real here for many of us have received a good standard of education so.e have even gone and got a university degree and I can definitely say they are not leading a successful life infact many are working harder and harder to keep there head above the water, why is this because we have all been told the the school/uni route is all there is so believing our parents, teachers, career advisors we took this pathway hoping all would work out.
Education is the key but in a different way. “A formal education will make you a living whilst a self education will make you a fortune”.
This is definitely the way forward as I have always told my students that we all stop growing in life (apart from getting older) but this way you never stop learning.
So in answering the question career building is ok if as an individual you want to remain an employee whilst the other way is great for the entrepreneur.
Life is a decision and you get to choose the outcome.
