It’s time to say goodbye to old tradition
Good morning everyone present here; I am going to express my views on ‘It’s time to say goodbye to old tradition’; and I am going to speak in favor of it.
Our traditions were formed long ago in the ancient times when life did not have the challenges of the current times. Problems such as environmental pollution, population, industrialization, globalization, urbanization, global warming, changing climatic conditions, etc. did not exist at all. life was pretty simple. Traditions that pollute and endanger environment should be said good bye to.
For example, on Diwali, burning crackers causes unprecedented air and noise pollution. Tons of toxic pollutants such as elements like copper, cadmium, sulphur, aluminium and barium are released into the air. The harmful gases produced from the bursting of crackers, such as Nitrous Oxide, remains in the air for a long time if the city doesn't get enough rain or strong winds. Inhaling the fumes emitted by firecrackers increases the chances of asthma attack among patients. Heart patients and patients of chronic bronchitis and low immune system are at high risk too.
Similarly, while we observe other traditions, much damage is done to the environment. It is high time we changed our outlook towards observing traditions.
I strongly feel all those traditions that damage our environment should either be modified or said good bye too. Because when the humans will survive only then traditions will survive. A barren life-less planet won’t have any traditions.
I conclude my speech by saying that those traditions that are polluting the environment should immediately be dispensed with.
