it is appropriate because it is not good for students who dont perform well in exams and they wont focous in examination after on knowing u will be promoted to next std anyway . they wont be able to know or rember basics if they wont focus and if they reach in 9th it will be hard catch up the basics and mathematics equations.
The students wont be that afraid of getting punishments or like they wont do home works anymore they may even wont care about what teacher is teachimg beacuse they know that they will be encouraged to the next grade. The most struggle will be in maths because if we dont know the basic we will do every answer wrongly without knowing the equations , the general knowladge or the memory power will be distributed to playing games and etc, rather than studies .
