Answer:

Festival celebrations strengthen the unity among Indians. - Do you agree?

India is noted as the the land of festivals and Indians too enjoy each and every festival with much zeal and fervor. Due to the varied culture and heritage of India, there are various religious as well as social festivals that are confined to specific regions of the country. However, there some festivals which know no boundaries and are celebrated by the people of all the communities irrespective of their caste, religion, creed etc.

Festive occasions not only bring joy but these festival celebrations help in strengthening the unity among the Indians. Festivals like Diwali, Eid and Christmas are enjoyed by all with the same spirit and fervor. Such festival celebrations where all are involved with the same enthusiasm spread a feeling of oneness among the Indians.

India is well known for its unity in its cultural diversity with various religions and their traditions. This give us to celebrate all the festivals in a calender year with great enthusiasm and fervor.

You made a valid point that the celebration of festivals strengthen our cultural unity. The celebrations of Ganesh Chaturdhi festival in places like Mumbai, Pune and Hyderabad, Dussera celbrations in Kolkata and Mysore, the Onam celebrations in Kerala, Janmastami celebrations all over the country are few examples where we can see the conglomeration of other religions to celebrate with their friends.

On the other hand, the visitors to Amritsar from all corners of the country to see the Golden temple and celebrate Guru Nanak Jayanti, the celebrations of Christamas at various churches in India are the threads of this cultural unity. The Ramzan month celebration at Hyderabad and Lucknow are the splendid testimony for the universal brotherhood. the Holi celebrations are the celebrations of joy for everybody with colours. Even Diwali is celebrated by one and all by lighting and illumination and bursting crackers.

This is the true spirit in India where in other parts of the world you won't observe. It sometimes pinches the mind, if someone tries to divide us with religious and traditional barricades.

STILL WE ARE BONDED BY THE THREAD OF GANDHIJI'S MANTRA.

Festivals reunite brotherhood because they bring different cultures together under one roof. One of my best memory includes Bhai Dooj.

  • The festival is observed in October or November. It occurs on the night of the new moon, roughly one day after the Diwali holiday.
  • The name Bhai Dooj roughly translates to "day of the brother," with "bhai" meaning "brother" and "dooj" indicating the second day following the new moon (the festival day).
  • The festival of Tikka is also referred to as Bhai Dooj.
  • The Bhai Dooj celebration honours the romantic relationship between a brother and a sister.
  • The sister conducts aarti, applies tilak (saffron and vermilion) to her brother's forehead, and presents sweets
  • In exchange, the brother blesses her and presents her with lovely things.
  • She garlanded him and applied the auspicious tilak (saffron and vermilion) to his forehead.
  • Yamraj gave her a particular gift as a mark of his love before they parted ways, and she gave him a handmade gift in return.
  • Yamraj declared that day that no one who receives a tilak from his sister will ever be consigned to hell. From that point forward, Yama Dwitiya, another name for Bhai Dooj, is observed.
  • Another myth claims that after killing the demon Narakasura, Lord Krishna went to his sister Subhadra's home. She gave him aarti (light), flowers, and treats as a welcome.
  • She then applied the holy tilak of protection, known as the Tikka, to his forehead. Since that time, brothers and sisters have celebrated the Tikka festival as a sign of love.
  • This goodness of festivals brings different cultures together.
