There are many recent advances and factors affecting Bioavailability. It includes Absorption, metabolism and Food effect of Drugs. Physico-chemical factors, first pass metabolism and Energy dependent efflux transporters are also discussed in BA/BE World Congress.

Bioavailability of a drug may be influenced by several factors listed below :

● Route of administration of the drug :

The way through which a drug is administrated to our body plays a very important role in the bioavailability of the drug the intravenous administration of the drug has 100% bioavailability and next to it is the intramuscular administration of drug followed by the subcutaneous Administration and the oral administration of a drug has the lowest bioavailability.

● Absorption of drug : the factors that might affect the absorption of the drug and the factors that might affect the absorbing capacity of the body also plays a vital role in the bioavailability of a drug. Along with being hydrophobic a drug must also have some capacity to dissolve in aqueous medium.

● Chemical instability of a drug : the chemical instability of a drug or its chemical composition is another factor that might affect the bioavailability of the drug because several drugs only suitable to be provided through some specific ways because if provided in any other way then its chemical composition might get affected in a way or the other.
