It's a miracle of gifts by nature and a magical phenomenon in evolutionary history that deep sea sponges possess silicate spicules. As we know silicate conc is low in the surface level but the deeper we go it increases with 10times more. These creatures are well adopted by their phylogenetic lines that they accumulate silicatien protein with the help of Alfa carbonic anhydrase reaction which claims prohibition in accumulation of CaCO3.
