Deepa's mother is four years more than three times as old as Deepa is now. 6 years from now she will be 8 years more than twice as old as Deepa will be then how old is each of them now

let mother's  age be x and deepa's be y

x=3y+4

x-3y=4..............(1)

x+6=2(y+6)+8

x+6=2y+20

x-2y=14................(2)

(2)-(1)

x-2y-x-3y=14-4

         -5y=10

            y=-2

x-3y=4

x=4+6  =10
