Deepika is 15m away from her starting point facing southward.

Given:

Deepika walked 35m toward the west, turned right, and walked 15m. She then turned right and walked 20m, again turned right, and walked 15m more.

To Find:

The displacement of Deepika in all.

Solution:

The series of events that have been done by Deepika are as follows:

At first,

Deepika walked 35m toward the west.

Then she turned right, i.e, faced towards the north, and walked 15m.

After that, she turned right, facing eastward, and walked 20m.

And finally,

She turned right, facing a southward direction, and walked 15m.

Now, we have noticed that Deepika walked 15m north and 15m south, eliminating any displacement in the north or south direction.

Now if we take only the east and west directions,

We will observe that Deepika walked 35m west and 20m in the east.

therefore in total,

Distance from starting to ending point is (35-20)m i.e, 15m.

So Deepika is 15m away from her starting point facing southward.
