A very intelligent question!
The undefined nuclear region of prokaryotes are also known as NUCLEOID which means similar to nucleus. It is present as there is no nuclear membrane covering in the nuclear region. It is an irregularly shaped region within prokaryotic cells that contains all or most of the genetic material, called genophoreeg. It is generally found in bacteria. In contrast to the eukaryotic nucleus, nucleoid is devoid of a nuclear membrane whichis responsible for aiding protection to the nucleus from external disturbances.
Thanks, hope it helps!!!

nucleoid - the nucleoid is a irregular -shaped space where genophore is present (i.e,the genetic information of the cell) in prokaryotic cell.
- the nucleoid lack the membrane around it that is found around the nucleus of Eukaryotic cells.
- it may also contain RNA ,Proteins, and enzymes that can be used for cellular processes.
