HI !

Potential difference(V) - Work done to move a unit charge(Q) from one point to another.
1 Volt is the SI unit of potential difference.

1 volt is the amount of work done W, to move a unit charge Q, from one point to another. { si unit of work - J , si unit of charge = Q}
1 V = 1J/ 1C

=================================================================

Relation between work,charge and potential difference(p.d) :-

According to the definition of p.d ,

V = W/Q

V = p.d
W = work done
Q = charge
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q. Calculate the potential difference between two terminals of the battery, if 100 joules of work is required to transfer 20C of charge, from one terminal of the battery to the another terminal ?

Ans :-

W = 100 J
Q = 20 C
V = ?

We know that,

V = W/Q
    = 100/20
    = 5 v

Potential difference = 5 v
