Acute diseases- The diseases which last for a short time. Acute diseases do not cause bad effects for long time.
Example - cold,cough etc.

Chronic diseases- The diseases which lasts for a long period of time. Chronic diseases cause bad effects on our body for long time.
Example - diabetes , TB,etc.

Acute diseases are those ailments or diseases which occur suddenly. They are usually temporary. There are innumerable reasons for such disease. Under these disease we can include typhoid, malaria, etc.


Chronic diseases are the diseases which are the results of lifestyle hence they are also lifestyle diseases. Such diseases can have a drastic affect on our body. They prevail throughout the life in most cases. We can categorize asthma, diabetes,etc under these disease.
