Answer:

Cell: The cells are the basic structural, functional and biological unit of all known living organisms.

Cell organelle: The cellular components are called cell organelles. These cell organelles include both membrane and non-membrane bound organelles, present within the cells and are distinct in their structures and functions.

Mitosis: It is a process where a single cell divides into two identical daughter cells (cell division).

Meiosis: It is a process where a single cell divides twice to produce four cells containing half the original amount of genetic information.

Evolution: It is change in the heritable characteristics of biological populations over successive generations. These characteristics are the expressions of genes that are passed on from parent to offspring during reproduction.

Crossing over: It is the swapping of genetic material that occurs in the germ line. During the formation of egg and sperm cells, also known as meiosis, paired chromosomes from each parent align so that similar DNA sequences from the paired chromosomes cross over one another.

Karyokinesis: It is the process of division of a cell's nucleus during the cell division processes like mitosis and meiosis.

Diploid: It is a cell or organism that has paired chromosomes, one from each parent. In humans, cells other than human sex cells, are diploid and have 23 pairs of chromosomes.

Interphase: It is the phase of the cell cycle in which a typical cell spends most of its life. It is the 'daily living' or metabolic phase of the cell, in which the cell obtains nutrients and metabolizes them, grows, reads its DNA, and conducts other "normal" cell functions.
