Energy exists in many different forms. Examples of these are: light energy, heat energy, mechanical energy, gravitational energy, electrical energy, sound energy, chemical energy, nuclear or atomic energy and so on. ... Potential energy is any form of energy that has stored potential that can be put to future use.

REQUIRED ANSWER ✍️:-

There are types of energy. They are-

  • MECHANICAL ENERGY- Mechanical energy is the energy that is possessed by an object due to its motion or due to its position. Mechanical energy can be either kinetic energy (energy of motion) or potential energy (stored energy of position). EXP:- A moving car possesses mechanical energy due to its motion (kinetic energy).

  • THERMAL ENERGY- Thermal energy is the energy that comes from the temperature of matter. The hotter the substance, the more is the vibration of molecules and hence the higher is the thermal energy. EXP:- Boiling water on a stove.

  • NUCLEAR ENERGY- Nuclear Energy is the energy in the core of an atom. In nuclear fusion, atoms combine to form a larger atom. In nuclear fission, the division of atoms takes place to form smaller atoms by releasing energy. Nuclear power plants produce energy using nuclear fission. EXP:- The fusion reaction in the sun provides our planet with all of the energy it needs for living organisms to survive.

  • CHEMICAL ENERGY- Chemical energy, Energy stored in the bonds of chemical compounds. Chemical energy may be released during a chemical reaction, often in the form of heat; such reactions are called exothermic. EXP:- When a matchstick is struck.

  • ELECTROMAGNETIC ENERGY- Electromagnetic energy is a form of energy that is reflected or emitted from objects in the form of electrical and magnetic waves that can travel through space. EXP:- Radio waves, microwaves, infrared radiation.

  • SONIC ENERGY- Sonic energy is the energy of sound waves. Sound waves travel through the air or another medium. EXP:- A sonic boom, a song played on a stereo, our voice.

  • GRAVITATIONAL ENERGY- Gravitational potential energy is the energy stored in an object as the result of its vertical position or height. The energy is stored as the result of the gravitational attraction of the Earth for the object. EXP:- Ripe fruit before it falls.

  • KINETIC ENERGY- Kinetic energy is the energy that an object possesses due to its motion. It is basically the energy of mass in motion. Kinetic energy can never be negative and it is a scalar quantity i.e. it provides only the magnitude and not the direction. EXP:- Walking, falling, flying, and throwing.

  • POTENTIAL ENERGY- Potential energy is the energy possessed by a body because of its position relative to other bodies. Gravitational potential energy is the energy held by a body when it is at some height relative to the zero potential level ground. EXP:- A book on a table before it falls.

  • IONIZATION ENERGY- Ionization potential represents the amount of energy needed to remove an electron from the valence shell of an isolated gaseous atom. The valence shell is the outermost shell. ... The amount of energy needed to remove this electron is the first ionization energy. EXP:- To remove an electron from a neutral fluorine atom to form a positively charged ion.
