An alloy is a substance composed of two metals or more metals and a non-metal which are intimately mixed by fusion or electrode position.

When carbon is added to an iron alloy, the alloy becomes harder and stronger.

When nickel is added to an iron alloy the alloy gains an excellent resistance to corrosion and good wear resistance.

WHEN IRON IS MIXED WITH A SMALL QUANTITY OF CARBON IT BECOMES HARD AND STRONG.

WHEN IRON IS MIXED WITH NICKEL AND CHROMIUM IT BECOMES STAINLESS STEEL.
