We know that linear distance travelled per second by a body is speed. But in case of a circular path speed is not calculated by measuring the distance. In this case of circular path the angle through which the body travelled is known as angular displacement or angular distance which is represented by theta and measured in radian. This angular distance travelled by a body per second is known as ‘angular speed'. The S.I unit of angular speed is radian per second ( rad/s).
