we know that gastric juice secreted by stomach contains hydrochloric acid which helps in the digestion of food. however when we are in tension or use very spicy food ,the walls of stomach secrete hydrochloric acid in excess. it leads to the acidity of stomach or in digestion in digestion is painful and harms the stomach was and may cause ulcers , if not controlled . In order to neutralise excess amount of acid some milled bases are used which neutralize the acid and relieve the stomach pain
