Antioxidants are substances that are added to prevent the Oxidation process, thus saving the food or the substance from getting corroded.

Beta-carotene - found in:

orange coloured foods -- carrots, cantaloupe, pumkin, apricots, squash and mango

some green leafy vegetables -- kale, collard greens, spinach

Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) - found in:

Citrus fruits like oranges and lime etc, green peppers, broccoli, green leafy vegetables, strawberries and tomatoes

Vitamin A - found in:

milk, egg yolks, and mozzarella cheese

Vitamin E (Alpha-tocopherol) - found in:

Almonds, nuts & seeds, whole grains, wheat germ, green leafy vegetables, broccoli, mangos, vegetable oils and soybean oil

Vitamin-like Antioxidants:

Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10)

Glutathione

Antioxidant enzymes made by the body:

superoxide dismutase (SOD)

catalase

glutathione peroxidase
