Artificial selection is operated in selected organism & is carried out by humans. In artificial selection selected traits may or may not have adapted values. In this human care is always required and i it is a fast process comparatively than natural selection. Kohlrabi and cauliflower are evolved from wild cabbage by the process of natural selection

tinniagt: In artificial selection, desired traits from an individual are given more importance according to the need of locality. Thus Kohlrabi, Cauliflower,Cabbage,Red Cabbage, Broccoli and Kale all developed from wild cabbage. When growth of stem as storage organ was considered it resulted in to Kohlrabi, when there is arrested flower growth,it resulted into cauliflower.

Artificial Selection is a process of evolution in living things carried out by humans and not by nature. Here, a new variety of plant or animal is developed from a species by breeding its selected characteristics.

For example, Kohlrabi and Cauliflower are plant species that are produced by artificial selection process from the species 'Brassica oleracea', which is also called as 'wild cabbage'.
