Atomicity is the no. of atoms in molecules of an element.The role which it plays is that elements are listed in periodic table of increasing atomic number.

The number of atoms in the molecules of an element like Monoatomic molecules Neon. While Diatomic molecules Hydrogen. And a Tri-atomic molecule is ozone. A tetra-atomic molecule is Phosphorus.and etc
