Define barter system . what are the drawbacks

Barter system is the system in which goods are exchanged for goods only as at that time there was no currency prevalent .for example -if a person wants to sell his wheat and wants to buy rice in exchange then he has to first found out that person who is willing to buy wheat and sell rice,so this is the first and foremost drawback .
then secondly actual measurement is not there.they are just exchanging.
the people do not get the appropriate amount for their good.
do these are some drawbacks.
