When someone requires blood then he has to be provided blood from another person's blood depending on the antigen present in the persons blood. This is known as blood transfusion. For example, Blood group A can give blood to A and AB. Blood group B can give blood to blood group B and AB . Blood group O can donate to everyone but can only receive blood from O . They are called universal donors. While blood group AB Can get blood from all but can only donate to AB .
If a person with blood group A gives blood to a person with blood group B then the body will take the antigen A as a foreign substance and produce antibodies to fight against it. This will result in clogging of RBC s and. the result may be fatal.
I hope this helps.
