Boiling point is the temperature at which vapor pressure of the gas escaping from the liquid gets equal to external pressure or atmospheric pressure.for water , boiling point is at 100°C .
there are two factors on which it defined.
(i) it depends upon external pressure.
(ii) it depends upon purity of solution ( i mean, if we mix non-volatile substance .it will effect on boiling point of main source. )
actually,A pressure cooker works on a simple principle that is Steam pressure. A sealed pot, with a lot of steam inside, builds up high pressure, which helps food cook faster.

Hi,
let us first discuss boiling point. As we all know
water boils at 100°C at 1 atm pressure.so ,how
we define boiling point.
Definition of boiling point:
➡️➡️➡️➡️➡️➡️➡️➡️➡️➡️➡️➡️➡️➡️➡️
It is that temperature of a liquid at which vapour pressure of liquid is equal to the surrounding pressure.
Factors affecting boiling point:
➡️➡️➡️➡️➡️➡️➡️➡️➡️➡️➡️➡️
There are few factors, which affects boiling
point, here we are discussed two of them
1) Pressure:
➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
if pressure decreases than boiling point decreases. for eg: at high altitudes atmospheric pressure is low so ,water boils there at low temperature( about 75-80°C).
so we can say boiling point is directly proportional to Boiling point.
2) Intermolecular force
➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
if Intermolecular forces are strong than boiling point is high .
❓❓❓❓Why food is cooked fast in pressure cooker?
⏩⏩⏩⏩ As it is totally packed system, pressure increase very fast as compared to atmospheric pressure,so as presser increases, correspondingly temperature have to be Increases,it is about 200-250°C,which is very high to cook food fast.
hope it helps you.
