the boiling point of a liquid is considered as the temperature when vapour pressure equals the atmospheric temperature.
Two factors on which boiling point depends are-
*dissolved impurities in the liquid
*atmospheric pressure
The trapped steam inside the cooker increases the atmospheric pressure . At that pressure, the boiling point of water is increased from 212°F to 250°F. This higher temperature is what cooks food faster.
