Question

:- Define buoyancy.

:- Write conditions of floatation.

:- Write Factors effecting untrust.

Answer

1. Define Buoyancy :

When a body is immersed in a liquid then an upward force acts on it in upward direction, this force is called upthrust or buoyant force, this property of fluid is known as buoyancy.

2. Condition Of Floatation :

  • F > w

In this condition the body will not sink or it will immerse partially.

  • F = w

In this condition the body will float just below water surface.

  • F < w

In this condition the body will completely sink and will go to the bottom.

3. Factors Affecting Upthrust :

  • Volume of the body

  • Density of fluid

  • The centre of gravity of the displaced fluid.

hope it helps :)
