Answer:

Cells are the basic functional and structural units of all living beings. The human body is composed of trillions of cells. They provide structure for the body, take in nutrients from food, convert those nutrients into energy, and carry out specialized functions...Cells have many parts, each with a different function such as mitochondria (the power house of cell), nucleus, cytoplasm, endoplasmic reticulum etc.... they are two types of cells: prokaryotic and eukaryotic!

Prokaryotic cells lack a well defined nucleus bound membrane and have the genetic material spread all around the cell while Eukaryotic cells have a proper nucleus membrane and the genetic material is found only inside the nucleus membrane....

there can be two types of organisms:

unicellular - where an organism is made up of a single cell and it is the only one to perform all the functions of the body... ( example - bacteria)

multicellular - where an organism is made up of multiple cells each having a specific task and function... (example - humans)

Cells were first discovered by Robert Hooke in a piece of cork using a basic microscope... He saw small enclosures and named them cells...
