define chlorofluorocarbon

ananya9781: a gas used in refrigeration
shivamani11: Modern refrigerators usually use a refrigerantcalled HFC-134a (1,1,1,2-Tetrafluoroethane), which does not deplete the ozone layer, instead of Freon. A R-134a is now becoming very uncommon in Europe. Newer refrigerants are being used instead.

Chlorofluorocarbons are fully halogenated paraffin hydrocarbons that contain only carbon, chlorine, and fluorine, produced as volatile derivative of methane, ethane, and propane. They are also commonly known by the DuPont brand name Freon. The most common representative is dichlorodifluoromethane.

Here is your answer mate
CFCs are gases that were widely used in the past in things such as aerosols and refrigerators and can cause damage to the ozonelayer. CFC is an abbreviation for 'chlorofluorocarbon'.
