We use computer or mobile phones and of course, we have used at least the copy, cut and paste features of these gadgets.
Clipboard is defined as the temporary location in the memory of the computer i.e. the RAM ( Random Access Memory ) which is more frequently used for copying, moving, and pasting a piece of text as in the case of a Word Processor or a file( including any type of file ) .
It is temporary location for storage of data and hence each and everything is erased as soon as another file is copied or cut, or the computer shuts down, sleeps, etc.

Answer:
The clipboard is a section of RAM where your computer stores copied data. This can be a selection of text, an image, a file, or other type of data. Data from the clipboard can be pasted into a document or program using the "Paste" command, which is also located in most programs' Edit menu.
