Constitution is a book of law which helps maintaining law and order in the country its functions are as follows
1) To provide a set of basic rules that allow the people amongst members of a society to live in peace and harmony
2) To specify who has the power to make decisions in a society. It decides how a government will be constituted.
3) To set some limits on what a government can impose on its citizens. These limits are fundamental in the sense that government can never trespass them.
4) To enable the government to fulfill the needs of a society and create conditions for a just society.
