Drilling and blasting is the controlled use of explosives and other methods such as gas pressure blasting pyrotechnics, to break rock for excavation. It is practiced most often in mining, quarrying and civil engineering such as dam or road construction.

They first cut holes in the steel support beams found in most modern buildings. These hole will not collapse it but will weaken the beams. That high explosive C4 shaped charges are placed on most key beams and detonated in a specific pattern to cause the building to collapse in a way that does not damage other buildings nearby or send pieces flying. Usually center beams first than outer sonthe building collapses on itself. Howvever this does not always go as planned like anything and occasionally there are failures. Look on YouTube to find many such failures.
