Define Dalton's theory

Dalton's atomic theory proposed that all matter was composed of atoms, indivisible and indestructible building blocks. While all atoms of an element were identical, different elements had atoms of differing size and mass.

Daltons atomic theory(postulates)
1) atom is an indivisible particle.
2) atoms of same element are similar in all aspects.
3) atoms of different elements are different in all aspects.
4) atoms of same as well as different element combine in a simple whole no ratio
5)the smallest particle that takes part in a chemical reaction is an atom.
6) atom can neither be created nor can be destroyed.
