Decomposition reaction = It is the type of reaction in which a Compound break into 2 or more substance it is just opposite of combination reaction.

eg:-

2H²0 = 2H² + O²

2Nacl = 2Na +Cl²

Good question!!

Decomposition Reaction:- It is a type of chemical reaction in which a reactant is break down in two or more simpler products with the help of heat ,light and electrical energy.This can be represented by the general equation: AB → A + B.

Ex:- NaHCO3=>Na2CO3+H2O+CO2

Types of Decomposition Reaction:-

1)Thermal Decomposition Reaction:- The decomposition reaction carried out in the presence of heat energy is called thermal decomposition reaction.

Ex:-CuSO4 • 5H2 O (s) + heat → CuSO4 (s) + 5H2 O (g)

2) Electrolytic Decomposition Reaction:- The decomposition reaction carried out with the help of electrical energy is called electrolytic decomposition reaction.

Ex:- 2H2O (l) --> 2H2(g) + O2(g)

3)Photo Decomposition Reaction:- The decomposition Reaction carried out in the presence of sunlight is called photo - decomposition reaction.

Ex:-O3 + hν → O2 + O
