DINOFLAGELLATES:

✔Dinoflagellates are protists

✔Dinoflagellates are considered to be amongst the most primative of the eukaryotes.

✔The majority of dinoflagellate species are marine, and together with coccolithophores and diatoms they make up the most important primary producers in the oceans.

EUGLENOIDS:

✔Euglena is a single celled protist that is both autotrophic and heterotrophic, but mostly autotrophic.

✔Euglenoids are single-celled organisms that are mostly autotrophic, but they can be heterotrophic.

✔✔The share characteristics of both plants and animals.

✔✔Euglenoids are found in freshwater, especially water rich in organic materials.

Dinoflagellates :

★ These are photosynthetic and aquatic.

★ Their cell wall has cellular on its own surface.

★ They have pigments of various colours. For example : Ganyoulox ( red dinoflagellates ). Their rate of division is fast. Release toxins and create red tides.

Euglenoids :

★ Their mode of nutritions are both autotrophic and heterotrophic. Dual mode of nutrition, They are called mixotrophic.

★ They are found in stagnant water.

★ Lack of cell wall. Their body is covered by protein rich layer.
