Hello!
A displacement reaction is a reaction where one element gets displaced by another in the compound
NOTE: MORE REACTIVE ELEMENT DISPLACES LESS REACTIVE ELEMENT
Eg: When copper reacts with sulphuric acid it forms copper(II)sulphate with hydrogen
Cu+ H2SO4 --> CuSO4 + H2
But in displacement reaction iron will displace copper[it is more reactive than copper] to form Iron(II)sulphate and hydrogen
Fe + H2SO4 --> FeSO4 + H2
HOPE THIS HELPS U...☺
