The Noble gases are non reactive due to the presence of the duplet or octet configuration in there outer most shell

Explanation:

1s^2 is posses by helium which is called as duplet configuration and other elements like neon, argon,etc..

posses ns^2np^6 in there outer most shell.

so they didn't involve in the chemical bonding and thus called as inert gases(nonreactive gases)
