The arithmetic mean of the atomic mass all the chemical elements present in a Dobereiner's triad is nearly equal to the atomic mass of the second element of that particular triad.

• This Dobereiner's law of triads was one of the preliminary attempts for creating the periodic table. Although,this law is very limited and it is not used in the modern periodic table.

• The example of Dobereiner's triad is -

Lithium, Sodium and Potassium.

The arithmetic mean of the atomic masses these three elements is approximately 23.02 and the atomic mass of the second element sodium is 22.99,so the values are almost equal.
