The majority of mammals (including humans) utilize adouble circulatory system. This means we have two loops in our body in which blood circulates. One is oxygenated, meaningoxygen rich, and the other is deoxygenated, which means it has little to no oxygen, but a lot of carbon dioxide.

Double circulation (double circulatory systems) are circulation systems in which
blood flows through the heart twice.

In the case of double circulation,

2 types of circulation takes place

pulmonary circulation - i.e. blood flow between the heart and lungs,

systemic circulation - i.e. movement of blood from the heart through the rest of the body (excluding the lungs), then back to the heart.

Hope it helps
